Today, the best Christmas present ever, came to Lisa in the form of a previous foster dog.  Heidi, who had been lost since March 1st, was finally caught and returned to Lisa  after living the “wild life” on Monte Sano.  For those who helped us try to find her after she was lost…another heart-felt THANK YOU!  Lots of volunteers scoured the mountain after she escaped from her adoptive family.

The volunteers from A New Leash on Life have been tracking her through sitings here and there, but the dedicated Huntsville Animal Services staff is who trapped her and gave her back to us.  This is ironic, because HAS is where we first got Heidi after she had been seized from a hoarder, in bad shape, and heartworm positive.

When we got her back today, we realized she has definitely been doing some hard core scrounging.  She looks like she’s doubled her weight in the last 9.5 months and she now resembles a baby walrus!

This was the best Christmas present EVER!
