The Chef’s Table and Ingenium Wines…A Successful Fundraiser !
On Sunday, September 21st, The Chef’s Table Restaurant and Ingenium Wines paired up with A New Leash on Life for a very successful, fundraising evening. Over 250 guests attended the wine and food pairing, tasting five wonderful German wines and a fine assortment of eclectic foods prepared by the Chef’s Table. The event raised over $8000 for homeless animals brought into the New Leash foster program, most in need of surgeries and treatments for various problems. A New Leash on Life takes in many homeless, abused, and unwanted cats and dogs, places them in approved foster homes, and gets each of them the veterinary treatments, medicines, and/or surgeries they need to have a happy, pain-free life.
Thanks to all who came out to support the animals. We cannot do this work without your help!

Rocky, an emaciated Boxer, was the recipient of the money we made in our yard sale. Thanks to everyone who donated their gently used items for us to sell. We made $861, and have spent it all (plus some) on Rocky’s vet bills. He was starved for most of his young life, and has had to have blood transfusions and IV fluids to help him slowly recover. His body is learning how to process food again, which is not easy after going so long without it. It is the worst case of starvation we have seen in an animal who is still alive. But his attitude is great! Even though he could barely stand when we got him, he would still wag his tail. Now, thanks to the help and donations of many kind people, Rocky is making a comeback ! We love you, Rocky !

A kitten this small is lucky to be alive after being hit by a car. Her pelvis and one of her back legs were crushed, but she kept on purring. She was unwanted after this happened, so her owner turned her over to a vet. A New Leash on Life was contacted to help with this precious little one, and we are happy to say that she is doing better. Her back leg had to be amputated, but she will hopefully be able to live a normal life from now on……she has a New Leash on Life!!!! We are in the process of raising money to cover her vet bills, and we will be using some of the Angel Tree money to do so. Please support our Christmas Charity. Read the Angel Tree announcement below and go to one of the locations to donate. It will make a difference in the lives of homeless and abandoned animals in our community. Thanks!
