Dear Friends,

We have a lofty, but achievable goal of saving all of Alabama’s homeless animals…from euthanasia in municipal shelters and from abandonment in our communities. All of them deserve our help!

The humans of A New Leash on Life have been working hard to create a no-kill community in Huntsville. We have led the way with many life-saving programs that our city has embraced and successfully utilized, and Huntsville now has an awesome live release rate of over 90%! Compare this to a less than 50% live release rate just 3 years ago, and you see why we are so excited about it!

While we celebrate this milestone, we recognize that our work is not done. Many rural Alabama communities within an hour drive of Huntsville need our support. They have very few resources for saving homeless, injured, or abandoned animals. You can help us help them!

A New Leash on Life is purchasing a functional and well-designed building that will allow us to save even more lives this year and beyond. It will house homeless moms with litters of puppies and kittens, adoptable pets, and a well-stocked thrift store to raise money for their vet bills. This building is going to be a huge life-saver for Alabama’s homeless cats and dogs, but it will require some modifications to make it useful quickly.

This is where we are asking for your help…
Donations are needed for fencing, plumbing, installation of doggie doors, and a small amount of remodeling to make it ready for saving dogs and cats! We also need donations of a washer, dryer, refrigerator, shelving, and other non-monetary items. We will proudly display our donors’ names prominently in the main entrance of our new location as well as on our website and brochures.
