Jewel….First Recipient of Marigold Fund Money

Read the post below to find out what the Marigold Fund is all about…….

Jewel, a Merliquin (yes, Merliquin, not Harlequin) Great Dane, was sat upon by her mother when she was a young puppy. Her leg was badly broken and as she grew, the damage became worse, but the family was not able to pay to repair it. They ended up turning her into the city shelter at 10 months old, and A New Leash on Life volunteer pulled her out into her home to foster her. Jodi, her foster mom, is caring for her and making her comfortable until she can have the surgery she desperately needs. Jewel will be the first recipient of the Marigold Fund money, set aside to help animals with expensive, emergency needs like this. Jodi says Jewel has a big heart and a kind soul and is VERY deserving of her efforts to rescue her and get her the care she needs. We believe that, and also know that Jodi has a big heart and a kind soul, so she is the perfect foster mom for Jewel! She will nurse her through the post-operative period when Jewel will require physical therapy to learn how to use her leg correctly. Thank you Jodi for this amazing, selfless, act of kindness.
