Duct Taped Kitten
A New Leash on Life took in this small kitten today who had been wrapped in duct tape and turned in to the emergency clinic. The tape was removed, leaving open wounds and raw skin…an aweful sight, but that didn’t slow the little fella down. He has a great attitude and with several treatments and wraps, he will be as good as new. Thanks to Valley Animal Hospital for taking him in on a moment’s notice for us. He’s in very good hands! Next week we will need a foster home for him to go to for living, loving, and healing. Email pets@anewleash.org if you would like to help this little guy.

A good Samaritan saw Topple get hit by a car and stopped to pick her little, black body up off the street. She survived the accident and was turned in to the Animal Emergency Clinic with two badly broken legs. She was x-rayed, stabilized, and then turned over to A New Leash on Life. She’s going to need orthopedic surgery, time to heal, lots of love, and a FOSTER HOME!
Topple is a curious, smart, little girl, about 10-12 weeks old, and she really does have a HEART OF GOLD! Helping her is what it’s all about! Help us help her!
If you would like to donate to help with Topple’s surgery, please go to www.anewleash.org/donate and you can donate via paypal. Just put “Topple” in the comment section. Or send a check to ANLOL, 707 Andrew Jackson Way, Huntsville, AL 35801. And if you’d like to help her by being her foster mom or dad until she recovers, please email pets@anewleash.org.

Tippy, a small, white pomeranian mix, was turned in to Huntsville Animal Services with a painful, injured leg. A New Leash on Life took her into our foster and adoption program and had Dr. Newman assess her leg. He found that she has a fractured and dislocated hip which will require surgery. So we are raising money in our Marigold Fund to help cover the surgery costs. If you would like to make a tax-deductible donation to help her, you can use the paypal link on our website or mail a check to P.O.Box 221, Brownsboro, AL 35741.

Many senior pets have a hard time in the hottest and coldest months of the year…especially if they are not allowed indoors. This summer, many will experience weakness, sickness, and dehydration, and some will end up in shelters because their owners don’t have enough money to have them vetted.
A New Leash on Life would like to help more of these deserving senior pets by providing foster care and veterinary care for them in their last years or months of life.
George Senior, pictured below, is a prime example of a little, old man who ended up in a kill shelter with many, many health needs. He was dehydrated, un-neutered, deaf, weak, and had an injured leg and an enlarged prostate. And that was just the beginning of his ailments! A New Leash on Life rescued him, had him vetted, and placed him in an approved foster home to begin the best days of his life! He has since been adopted by his foster family and is doing remarkably well with the proper nutrition, vetting, and lots of love!
If you are interested in helping with the New Leash Senior Pet Project, email pets@anewleash.org or call 256.489.PETS. The more volunteers we have on this team, the more sweet, old girls and boys we can help!
