Heidi is Lost
Heidi was lost this morning, March 1, 2010, while on a walk where Darlington Rd and Bankhead Pkwy meet going up the back side of Monte Sano Mtn. She may be in the woods somewhere up Bankhead Pkwy or near a neighborhood in Blossomwood.
Heidi is small, about 20 lbs, and is frightened of people. If you see her in that area, just call 656-3176 or 509-1778 to tell us where you see her. We will come to get her. She will run from strangers so don’t try to chase her.
She was recently adopted from A New Leash on Life where she was a foster dog for 8 months. She came from an animal horder in horrible conditions, she had heartworms which we had her treated for, and she was doing great. And her new family is distraught. Please call us if you see her and pass the word around to EVERYONE! Thanks!

This was a special Spay Day for North Alabama…a new spay/neuter clinic was born at 3303 North Memorial Parkway! A ribbon cutting ceremony was held February 23rd and Frank Ranaudo, director of the clinic, spoke about this dream becoming a reality. This low-cost, high-volume clinic will serve all of north Alabama and southern Tennessee and will significantly reduce the unwanted pet population in our community and beyond. We hope to open the doors to the public in about a month! A HUGE thanks to Frank Ranaudo for making this happen for our community’s four-legged companions! Donations are welcome! www.nalspayneuter.org

Managing an artist is tough work, but somebody has to do it! Smooch lives in an art studio where he can keep a close eye on his artist friend. He looks over her as she’s painting from atop his favorite perch. He carefully watches the brush go back and forth from palette to painting, then offers an inspirational kiss on his artist’s nose when she pauses to reflect. The creative life isn’t for everyone but Smooch has found his niche. He’d like a forever home where he can continue to inspire. Email pets@anewleash.org for an appointment to meet Smooch, the artist assistant.

3-Day Adopt-a-Thon This Weekend!!
Come to Petsmart in Jones Valley February 12-15, this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, to see our fun-loving dogs and cats looking for forever homes. BJ will be there….and many, many more. Check out all of our adoptable pets at anewleash.org/adopt. When you adopt a pet from ANLOL, you are adopting a pet who has been in a foster home, not a cage, and his/her good and bad habits are known. Each pet has also been fully vetted: spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, tested for heartworms (dogs) and FIV/Felv (cats), dewormed, and whatever else they need to be happy and healthy!
Our main goal is to match each pet with a person or family who will enjoy them as a new family member, make a lifetime commitment to them, and whose lifestyle matches that pet’s needs. This helps to reduce the chances of them ever being homeless again.
See you this weekend at Petsmart!
