Tazzy is a beautiful, happy ~6-year-old yellow lab mix who just loves to love! From the day she received her freedom ride, she has been such a joy, despite her condition. When we first brought her into the program, her back left leg was straightened out permanently, but sweet girl didn’t let that stop her! She was able to go on walks, live in our adoption center with other doggy friends, and love on all humans who interacted with her.
After a visit to the vet, it was deemed that her leg condition was from an old injury and any surgery or rehab wouldn’t give her much change in quality of life. We made the decision to amputate her leg so she could enjoy life without the stiff limb – allow her to go through doggy doors, lay more comfortably, and be able to walk/run without anything holding her back!
She’s doing phenomenally recovering in her foster home! She gets up to walk around and loves exploring in the backyard. She’s house trained and just wants to be by humans! She’s hoping her sunshine hair and huge grin will snag her a forever home soon!
