Hi there! My name’s Meg, and I’m hoping you might be my forever. My foster mother says that I’m a very very good girl, but sometimes I still don’t believe her and get anxious and scared. It’s not my fault – the world hasn’t always been nice to me. But I think that as long as I have my person and my favorite chewie toy at my side, the world doesn’t seem so scary. I’ve always got a big ole smile on my face for my person, and my tail may be a bit stubby but it still manages to wag my whole body along with it.

In no particular order, my very best favorite things are peanut butter, car rides, and treats to really gnaw on. I’m very polite – I’d never chew on something that’s not mine – but I just adore a nice bone to spend the afternoon on. And peanut butter IN a Kong bone?? Heaven. Pure heaven. Just have to find some way to mix a wind-in-my-face car ride in there, and I think we may reach earthly perfection.

I’m an amazing hiking partner, if I do say so myself. Even though I came to ANLOL with a busted knee that required surgery to fix, I didn’t let that slow me down one jot. My foster mom does say that I must be part horse, but I think she’s just being silly – everyone knows that the best part of walks are the special grass snacks along the way!

I am also quite the toy aficionado. Fetch is a super fun excellent game, and if you’re not available, I’ll toss my toys around to play fetch with myself. Sometimes I get my stuffed animals stuck up on bookshelves and counters doing this, and spend my time sighing and grumbling dramatically until they’re rescued. Some evenings, I pull out all my favorite toys and show them, one by one, to my foster mother – I think it’s important to keep the household appraised of Big Happenings like a toy review.

I have lived well with cats and some other dogs in my foster home, though sometimes I need reminding that my newest foster cat siblings don’t appreciate me barking my wiggly excitement directly into their faces … I’m not going to claim that emotional regulation is my strong suite. All I want is a someplace and someone to call mine, and if you think that might be you, please fill out a no-obligation application today!
