Sex: Neutered Male
Breed: Domestic Medium Hair
Age: 1 year, 1 month
Special Needs: Beary Bear is a shy boy in need of a patient and quiet home with an experienced cat guardian or someone dedicated to learning to help him continue to overcome his fears.
Born under a vacant home being renovated by workers, this silky haired purr baby and his siblings spent the first 3 months of life without positive human interaction. Beary has made tremendous strides in foster care! He is very routine oriented. He returns to his bed at nap time. He uses the litter box without fail, has never scratched or bitten. Beary LOVES to sit at the window and watch birds at the feeder. Although Beary prefers not to be carried, he loves to be petted and will present to have the base of his tail rubbed. Beary loves other cats and would do best adopted into a home with a feline playmate.
Beary must be an indoor only companion with access to good food and great vet care. He is very healthy and it’s important that he remain inside where he can stay that way. As a kitten, Beary tested positive for the antibodies to FIV (possibly through his mother’s milk). If exposed to viruses from outdoor pets, his immune system could become weakened, making him susceptible to infections.
