Aries is a 1-year-old, solid black, medium haired lab mix. He’s a big boy (60 lbs at last vet visit) but is still a puppy at heart! He is affectionate and loves to be near his people as much as possible. He is housebroken, and will let you know when he needs to go outside. He also knows some basic commands (such as “sit, “down, “up) and we have been working on new ones such as “come, and “leave it. He does need a bit more training, but is very receptive and enjoys the attention when he does well. He loves playing with other dogs, but dogs with lower energy levels may not tolerate him too well. He does well with cats, but would need supervision during the introductory period as he does enjoy chasing them! He loves his squeaky toys and is great at fetching, but his very favorite game is tug of war! He loves people and is very high-energy, he would love to have a dog (or person!) companion who loves to run and play. He does get bored easily, but as long as he’s getting exercise during the day, he does great as an inside dog. He does just well in the house at night and can be trusted inside the house without constant supervision when we all go to bed. He normally sleeps either on our sofa or on his doggy bed. He loves to sleep in the bed next to his people also. He is neutered and is up to date on all vaccines, and has no known health problems. He also enjoys a trip to the groomer every 1-2 months; we’ve never tried to bathe him ourselves but he does love being brushed. He does great on a leash, he loves going for walks and going on “field trips to parks, pet friendly stores, or even just taking a ride in the car. He is great with kids but may be better suited for a home with older children, as he does tend to get overly excited with little ones and may knock them down (he is easily called off when that happens, and would easily adapt with some patience and consistency and the right family 🙂
