Adopting One Cat Makes a Difference for Two

January 5th, 2010

Two Sets of Twins

We all love kittens – mischevious, goofy, and snuggly – and the kittens get adopted pretty quickly. Adult cats, as the ANLOL Cat Crew knows, were once cute, cuddly, little fuzzballs. And they need warmth, tenderness, toys, safety, and a loving family, too! So during the months of January and February, we’d like to encourage adoptions and find families for all our homeless cats. If you can find room for one more, we’re reducing our suggested adoption donation to $75. Please take a look at our wonderful cats and welcome one into your family. You will make a huge difference in the life of that cat…and you will be making room in a foster home for another cat to be saved.

Sugar Cookies, Anyone?

January 3rd, 2010

These two darling sisters were so gentle and sweet, we had to name them Sugar and Cookies. They both have beautiful, golden tiger coloring and are about 8 months old (23 lbs each). Sugar and Cookies were abandoned by their owner and turned into A New Leash on Life, so they need a foster home quickly. Both are spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm negative, etc. and will be medium-sized dogs when full grown.

A New Leash on Life provides all veterinary care for the foster dogs and cats in our program. Email pets@anewleash.org for detailed information about our successful foster and adoption program.

Aspen and Her Pups Found in Abandoned Trailer Park

Foster Home Needed for this little family
Foster Home Needed for this little family

She did her best before she was found. She fed her pups well. Thank goodness a caring man saw her going into the dark, abandoned building and followed her into it. He started feeding her and taking her blankets so the pups could have something warm to lay on. He then called A New Leash on Life for help. ANLOL named her Aspen and sent her and the pups to Flint River Animal Hospital where they were assessed, dewormed, etc. and we are now looking for a foster home for them. Aspen weighs around 40 lbs with her milk in, so will be in the 30s when she’s done nursing. All vet bills will be paid by ANLOL. Puppies are now named: Auburn, Ann Arbor, Alexandria, Atlanta, Austin, Anchorage, Amarillo, and Arapahoe….US cities that start with A!

Email pets@anewleash.org if you are interested in fostering these precious pups!

New Leash Volunteers Took a Much-Needed Break

July 3rd, 2008

Saturday, July 5th, was the first Saturday in several months that A New Leash on Life, Inc.’s foster parents and volunteers took a break from pet adoptions at Petsmart. A restful Saturday was needed to be with our families and rest.

As you may know, at A New Leash on Life, Inc., there are no paid employees and we do not have a shelter. This means that all of our foster families and volunteers spend alot of their free time caring for these homeless pets and teaching them what love is all about. Each foster pet is evaluated in a home setting before placement in a forever home. Foster homes are the heart of our program and why we believe our program is so successful. You usually know who you are getting when you adopt from us because we know the good and the bad!

We hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend and will come out to see our adoptable dogs and cats the following Saturday, July12th at Petsmart.
