Sugar Cookies, Anyone?

January 3rd, 2010

These two darling sisters were so gentle and sweet, we had to name them Sugar and Cookies. They both have beautiful, golden tiger coloring and are about 8 months old (23 lbs each). Sugar and Cookies were abandoned by their owner and turned into A New Leash on Life, so they need a foster home quickly. Both are spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm negative, etc. and will be medium-sized dogs when full grown.

A New Leash on Life provides all veterinary care for the foster dogs and cats in our program. Email pets@anewleash.org for detailed information about our successful foster and adoption program.

Aspen and Her Pups Found in Abandoned Trailer Park

Foster Home Needed for this little family
Foster Home Needed for this little family

She did her best before she was found. She fed her pups well. Thank goodness a caring man saw her going into the dark, abandoned building and followed her into it. He started feeding her and taking her blankets so the pups could have something warm to lay on. He then called A New Leash on Life for help. ANLOL named her Aspen and sent her and the pups to Flint River Animal Hospital where they were assessed, dewormed, etc. and we are now looking for a foster home for them. Aspen weighs around 40 lbs with her milk in, so will be in the 30s when she’s done nursing. All vet bills will be paid by ANLOL. Puppies are now named: Auburn, Ann Arbor, Alexandria, Atlanta, Austin, Anchorage, Amarillo, and Arapahoe….US cities that start with A!

Email pets@anewleash.org if you are interested in fostering these precious pups!

A Foster Home is a Special Place

Pretty Boy

Foster parents are special people providing a special place for an animal in need. Without this wonderful gift, many of the pets we try to save would have their lives ended. In providing this temporary refuge, you are allowing a dog or cat time to recuperate, time to learn about love, time to relax and have regular meals, time to play, rest, and play again, time to live life. It’s a selfless act of kindness which can be very rewarding. If you think you could be ready to invite a homeless pet into your home, please email pets@anewleash.org and ask any questions you may have about fostering. We are a foster home network working together for a common goal – saving as many lives as we can, and making the world a better place for the homeless pets and the people who love them.

Animals in need of foster homes today are: Pretty Boy (great pyreness), Kisses (black kitty cat), Tulip (silver tabby cat), Collins (collie mix), Gem (german shepherd), Boca (pit bull mix pup), Tiny Man (boston terrier), as well as numerous litters of kittens and puppies. A New Leash on Life pays all vet bills for foster pets in our program. Foster homes provide the food, water, shelter, training, and love.
