Would you like to meet Callie? If so, email pets@anewleash.org or come to the Jones Valley Petsmart in Huntsville on a Saturday from 12 to 6, and you will see for yourself what a love she is!

On Sunday, September 21st, The Chef’s Table Restaurant and Ingenium Wines paired up with A New Leash on Life for a very successful, fundraising evening. Over 250 guests attended the wine and food pairing, tasting five wonderful German wines and a fine assortment of eclectic foods prepared by the Chef’s Table. The event raised over $8000 for homeless animals brought into the New Leash foster program, most in need of surgeries and treatments for various problems. A New Leash on Life takes in many homeless, abused, and unwanted cats and dogs, places them in approved foster homes, and gets each of them the veterinary treatments, medicines, and/or surgeries they need to have a happy, pain-free life.

Thanks to all who came out to support the animals. We cannot do this work without your help!

So, after searching for a SAFER place for her to go, we found one. She is safe in a New Leash foster home where all her needs are met. She sure had some cute kittens! When they are old enough to be spayed and neutered (around 10 weeks), they will be adoptable. Each kitten will come spayed/neutered, MICROCHIPPED, fully vaccinated, dewormed, and tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV.

If you are interested in fostering cats or dogs, please fill out the foster home application on our website and email it to pets@anewleash.org. All vet bills are paid by ANLOL. Foster homes provide food, water, shelter, transport, and LOTS OF LOVE. Fostering is alot of work, but it’s very rewarding.

Bonnie and Clyde were found roaming around Big Spring Park, filthy, hungry, and lost. A nice lady saved them and they became part of the New Leash Program. They need a foster home together, and Bonnie needs the expensive treatment for deadly heartworms. Thank goodness Clyde is heartworm negative! They have both been examined, vaccinated, dewormed, etc. by the vets at Valley Animal Hospital and they are scheduled for spay/neuter and microchips in a few days.

We are currently raising money to treat Bonnie’s heartworms, and hope to have enough in a couple of weeks. PLEASE HELP BONNIE by making a tax-deductible donation either online via paypal, or by sending a check to ANLOL P.O. Box 221, Brownsboro, AL 35741. Specify that it is for Bonnie.

….and if you would like to foster this great pair of dogs until they are adopted, please email pets@anewleash.org. We pay all vet bills. You will be responsible for food, water, shelter, and LOTS OF LOVE! They sure deserve it!

Saturday, July 5th, was the first Saturday in several months that A New Leash on Life, Inc.’s foster parents and volunteers took a break from pet adoptions at Petsmart. A restful Saturday was needed to be with our families and rest.

As you may know, at A New Leash on Life, Inc., there are no paid employees and we do not have a shelter. This means that all of our foster families and volunteers spend alot of their free time caring for these homeless pets and teaching them what love is all about. Each foster pet is evaluated in a home setting before placement in a forever home. Foster homes are the heart of our program and why we believe our program is so successful. You usually know who you are getting when you adopt from us because we know the good and the bad!

We hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend and will come out to see our adoptable dogs and cats the following Saturday, July12th at Petsmart.

A KITTEN EXPLOSION has occurred! In the last few weeks we have taken in 38 kittens and cats (mostly kittens) who were homeless and/or unwanted. Spaying and neutering would have prevented these, and millions of other homeless and unwanted dogs and cats who are born every day in our country. Please spay and neuter your pets …. well, have a licensed veterinarian do it. You will be glad you did, and your pet will to! Download a 1/2 price coupon from our Spay/Neuter Page.

All of these kitties, like our other foster pets who are awaiting adoption, will be spayed, neutered, MICROCHIPPED, vaccinated, tested, dewormed, etc. and they will be waiting for YOU to come down and pick a few out. They make wonderful companions!

We invite you to bring all your friends and come to our Jones Valley Petsmart adoption events, Saturdays from 2pm to 6pm , in the back of the store (it’s too hot outside now) to see our wonderful pets for adoption. They are all housed in approved foster homes before adoption, so we can care for them in a home setting and get to know them. Fostering is a wonderful way to share your home and love with a homeless dog or cat . Email pets@anewleash.org if you would like to foster with us!
